DO YOU OFFER GROUPON?

I do offer Groupon! It is for first time clients only. Groupon does take a very LARGE percentage of profits from all of their vendors this is why I only allow for one time use starting January 1st of 2022. However, I can honor the price at checkout without you having to purchase through Groupon at all. Keep in mind, the "First Timer" spray tan is the same price as Groupon. If you are looking to save some $$$ even after your first session, I do offer discounts, memberships, along with occasion specials! There are also punch cards!! Subscribe to our email list & be the first to know what our monthly specials are! If you are wanting a mobile appointment, the travel fee will still apply on top of the discounted price.

DOES MY CARD GET CHARGED WHEN BOOKING?

When booking, you must input your credit/debit card information. This is to ensure your appointment slot. Your card only gets charged in the event of a late cancellation (within 24 hours of appt) or no show. We can use this card for your service payment offering a safe, contactless payment.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

There is a $10 travel fee added for mobile. Golden Hour Tan is based out of northeast San Antonio, 78266. Anything outside of a 10-mile radius or not along the I35 New Braunfels corridor, will have a fee of $1 per mile. If you are hosting a tan party with multiple people at your home or location, travel fees can be split between clients at the same location! Parties of 5 or more are waived the total travel fee.

HOW DOES SPRAY TANNING WORK?

The active ingredient in all tanning products, including spray tanning, is known as DHA, or Dihydroxyacetone. This ingredient is naturally derived from sugar cane and reacts with the amino acids found in the skin to create a browning or staining effect. The color will gradually fade over the course of 7-10 days through natural skin exfoliation. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

The most crucial step before coming in for your appointment is to thoroughly exfoliate your skin so you can get the best possible results. Our exfoliating mitts are perfect to use with a spray tan safe body wash or scrub, which you can pick up in store a few days prior to your appointment! You will also want to shower, shave and exfoliate at least 12 hours before your session. Any waxing, manicures or pedicures will need to be done at least 24 hours before your service.  

HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?

On average, your tan should last 7-10 days depending on your aftercare. Unlike other beauty services, the life of your tan is 50% dependent on the client's prep + aftercare regimen. We cannot stress the importance of prepping properly and using the proper aftercare products.  Please be sure to follow our aftercare instructions and recommendations to a T to ensure a long-lasting tan with an even fade. 

I'M GOING AWAY, SHOULD I GET A SPRAY TAN?

Spray tans are perfect for vacations! It allows you to go with a glow! Many clients get a tan for this reason. Keep in mind in mind if you're going to be in sand & water, make sure to rinse off with fresh water & make sure to moisturize daily. Wear SPF!

HOW DO POOLS & HOT TUBS EFFECT MY TAN?

Water acts an exfoliant to your spray tan. When interacting with water, you want to make sure you rinse off with fresh water & moisturize daily to keep your tan looking fresh. Please keep in mind, hot tubs are basically like a long hot bath and will start to remove your tan or make it patchy over extended periods of time. Just honestly here. I would highly suggest purchasing a Golden Hour Tan travel set that has all spray tan approved products, containing body wash, a moisturizer, a tan extender & touch up tanner.

WILL A SPRAY TAN PROTECT ME FROM THE SUN?

Spray tans have ZERO spf protection. Please make sure you use an oil free sunblock to protect your skin & tan! I suggest Sun Bum, Coola or South Seas sunblock.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK THE SPRAY TAN?

 We always recommend a "trial tan" at least 2 weeks before any big event spray tan. This allows you to make sure you are in love with the color and tone of your tan.  When you book your appointment for the actual event, we recommend coming in 2-3 days before to tan. This allows for you to get optimum timing for your lifestyle.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT WORKING OUT?

When working out with a tan, you want to make sure pat dry your sweat, rinse off after the gym immediately. Tight clothing will cause more friction which will result in losing your tan faster, drinks LOTS of water and moisturize daily after each shower. Please do not work out during your processing time.

WILL THE TAN STAIN MY CLOTHES, SHEETS, OR FURNITURE?

All of our solutions are fully customizable meaning if you are worried about the cosmetic bronzers in your airbrush tan staining certain materials or surfaces, we recommend you opt for our "Clear Rapid Tan". This is the only way we can guarantee the solution won't stain any of your items. We do recommend wearing dark, loose-fitting clothing after your appointment to minimize the risk of bronzer transfer. Please note, our bronzers are water soluble and should rinse out of most fabrics if contact occurs. Be sure to cover leather car seats/furnishings and avoid direct contact.  

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU RECOMMEND?

We recommend clean products that are spray tan safe. Stay away from products that contain mineral oil, sulfates, parabens & petroleum jelly substances that may break down your tan. Do NOT use ANY Dove products. I do retail both pre & post care, tan safe products so there is no question or having to make an extra trip to the store.

CeraVe - body wash, face wash & lotion

Hempz or Shea Moisture - body wash & lotions (without exfoliating properties)

SunBum, Coola, South Seas - for sunscreen
